Telling the time ( การบอกเวลา )
1. "o'clock" บอกเวลาเต็มๆชั่วโมงexample ; It's six o'clock. (มันเป็นเวลาหกโมงเช้า / เย็น)
2. บอกเวลาที่มีเศษนาทีไม่เกิน 30 นาที ใช้ "past" นำหน้าชั่วโมงนั้น
รูปแบบ เศษนาที + past + ชั่วโมงขณะนั้น example ; 9.25 = It's twenty-five past nine.
3. บอกเวลาที่มีเศษนาทีเกิน30นาที ให้ใช้ "to" นำหน้าเวลาที่จะถึง
รูปแบบ 60-เศษนาทีที่ให้มา + to + ชั่วโมงที่จะถึง example ; 10.40 = It's twenty to eleven.
4. บอกเวลาที่เศษนาทีเท่ากับ 15 นาที
รูปแบบ a quarter past + ชั่วโมงในขณะนั้นexample ; 3.15 = It's a quarter past three.
5. บอกเวลาที่เศษนาทีเท่ากับ 45 นาที
รูปแบบ a quarter to + ชั่วโมงที่จะถึง example ; 5.45 = It's a quarter to six.
6. การบอกเวลาที่เศษนาทีเท่ากับ 30 นาที ใช้ "half past"
